I became a doula because too many mamas told me they felt pressured into choices that didn’t align with their values—left feeling scared, disappointed and unheard.
I’ve been there too. After 50 hours of labor, my first birth ended in a C-section—and I felt profoundly disappointed. That experience sparked a deep desire to understand how birth could be different. I wondered, “How can we birth better?”
What I’ve learned is this: Your mindset and preparation matter as much as your birth preferences. The earlier you start preparing—mentally, physically, and emotionally—the more confident and connected you’ll feel.
